U.S. News & World Report Names Saint Joseph Hospital Among Best Hospitals in Region for 2025-2026
Saint Joseph East and Saint Joseph London also named High-Performing hospitals
LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 29, 2025) – Three Saint Joseph Health hospitals have been named
among U.S. News & World Report’s 2025-2026 Best Hospitals edition as a High Performing hospital, with one being named one of the best hospitals overall in Kentucky.
Saint Joseph Hospital ranked No. 5 in the Kentucky among U.S. News’ latest edition of Best Hospitals. This year, U.S. News announced 504 Best Regional Hospitals across 49 states and 95 metro areas that have demonstrated superior outcomes.
Saint Joseph Hospital was also named a High Performing hospital for abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, back surgery (spinal fusion), colon cancer surgery, heart arrhythmia, heart failure, hip fracture, pneumonia, and leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma.
Two other Saint Joseph Health hospitals were recognized as High Performing hospitals, including Saint Joseph East for hip replacement, knee replacement, and pneumonia, and Saint Joseph London for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and pneumonia. This is the highest distinction a hospital can earn as part of U.S. News’ Best Hospitals Procedures & Conditions ratings.

More than half, 55, of CommonSpirit Health’s full-service acute care hospitals were recognized in the annual hospital rankings, affirming the system’s commitment to high-quality care across its 24-state footprint.
U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals across 15 adult specialties and 22 procedures and conditions; only 13% of evaluated hospitals earned a Best Hospitals designation.

U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals across 15 adult specialties and 22 procedures and conditions; only one third of them earned an award. To determine the Best Hospitals, U.S. News analyzed each hospital’s performance based on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications and level of nursing care. The Best Hospitals Specialty rankings methodology and Procedures & Conditions ratings methodology measure patient outcomes using data from over 800 million records of patient care.
