KLC and EKU To Provide Housing Analysis For Kentucky Counties
The Kentucky League of Cities and Eastern Kentucky University Department of Government partnered to provide an in-depth analysis of the housing situation in every Kentucky county. The data, compiled by an EKU Master of Public Administration student, includes the following:
- Information on the housing situation in each county
- The number of people without a home in each county
- Rent availability and affordability
- An average renter’s wages
- Other local metrics
It is valuable data that multiple organizations and governmental groups can use to help address the issue at the local level.
We will present the data and information on how to help people in need in your community during a no-cost webinar at 10:00 a.m. EDT on July 26, 2022. We invite you and others in your organization who may benefit from hearing the data to join us. You can register here.
Additionally, KLC will make a new Step-by-Step Guide to Examine Homelessness and Affordable Housing in Your City available to members and those participating in the July 26 webinar. The document is a compilation of information and resources and includes step-by-step suggestions on taking action prepared with input from Kentucky social services and homelessness and housing experts.
The Kentucky League of Cities is providing this information as part of an initiative to help cities address the issues of affordable housing, housing insecurity and homelessness. You can learn more about the KLC program here.
