United Way of Laurel County To Use Town Center Concert As Fundraising Event
United Way of Laurel County has announced they have secured matching funds of up to $10,000 for donations given to the Team Eastern Kentucky Flood Relief Fund during the Town Center Concert with The Little River Band this Friday evening. The concert is free and begins at 7:00 p.m.
For each dollar donated by the public or local businesses during the event, United Way of Laurel County will match the amount up to $10,000 total.
The Team Eastern Kentucky Flood Relief Fund will assist with the long-term needs of those impacted by the historic flooding throughout Eastern Kentucky. Donations are tax-deductible. Checks and cash will be accepted on site. Individuals and businesses will have the option of being recognized for their donations during the event.
The Town Center Concert series, presented by City of London Tourism, hosts the award-winning Little River Band and local favorites The Worley Brothers beginning at 7p.m. on Friday, August 5. Town Center Park is located at 500 North Main Street next to London Elementary School. The event is free. Plenty of parking is available behind the school via E. 11th Street and throughout downtown London. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket. Food and drink vendors will be on hand.
