Relay for Life Kickoff at Weavers – 02/02/12
Don’t keep it a secret! What am I talking about? Relay For Life of course…
We see it on Facebook all the time: Post this to your status for one hour in support of cancer patients or finding a cure for cancer. Really what is that doing? Most of us who have been affected by this terrible disease think about it often. Let’s actually rally round and do something!
Here is my suggestion.
Let’s get people involved in the Relay For Life of Laurel County. Don’t just talk about it, invite people to come to the kickoff event this Thursday night at Weaver’s. Ask them to come and learn more about what the American Cancer Society is doing and why it’s important to be involved in the Relay For Life.
No team is too large or small to participate. All they need is enthusiasm in the fight against cancer.
Potential teams are businesses, churches, schools and groups of friends/family gathering for a common cause.
Ask today! Is your employer, church or school involved? Ask. What about your civic or school club? Ask. What about your friends who have had a family member come face to face with this monster? Ask. When we grow our teams, we make that much more of an impact in this fight.
There is now a Facebook page for the event.
If you utilize the social network, please go and “like” the page and invite your friends to “like” it too – Relay For Life of Laurel County. They may also wish to visit the web page, www.relayforlife.org/laurelky.
Looking forward to seeing you Thursday night, 5:30 at Weaver’s. Let’s make 2012 the biggest year yet for the fight against cancer in Laurel County!
