London – Laurel County Chamber of Commerce Foundation

London – Laurel County Chamber of Commerce Foundation

The London – Laurel County Chamber’s 501(c)(3) foundation was founded to expand the Chamber’s philanthropic endeavors in the London – Laurel County community. The initial project that prompted the creation of the foundation was the Chamber’s involvement with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The Chamber needed 501(c)(3) status in order to properly fund-raise and administrate this program… and thus, the foundation was born.

Make A Donation

The London – Laurel County Chamber of Commerce Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our current fundraising efforts are for our partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. This project provides Laurel County children ages 0 – 5 with a free book each month. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to our program. $3000 provides 100 children with a free book each month for a year. $30 would provide one child with a free book each month for a year.

Programs

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five, no matter their family’s income.

After launching in 1995, the program grew quickly. First books were only distributed to children living in Sevier County, Tennessee where Dolly grew up. It became such a success that in 2000 a national replication effort was underway. By 2003, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library had mailed one million books. It would prove to be the first of many millions of books sent to children around the world.

You can check to see if the program is available in your area by visiting https://imaginationlibrary.com/check-availability/.
