Job Description for Part-Time Membership Retention Specialist

The London-Laurel County Chamber of Commerce is positioned uniquely as a respected source of news and information for local businesses, as well as visitors and citizens.  This position is leveraged to share a variety of information through the Chamber’s Social Media outlets, events and in person contact with new and potential members.

Membership Retention Specialist:

• Recruit new members to the Chamber.
• Schedule Ribbon Cuttings for new businesses.
• Play an active role in planning events and programs for the chamber.
• Contact members on how the chamber can help them.
• Answer telephones and locate information for callers.
• Scan newspapers and other printed publications for upcoming events
• Update Chamber Member information on Chambers website
  • Correct contact information
  • Description of business
  • Ensure linkage to Members’ website.
  • Ensure emails are being received.
• Develop Welcome packets for new members.
  • Contact current members for discounts and specials for new members.
  • Secure giveaways from the World Class members
  • Pair a new member with an ambassador for luncheons/events
  • Invite new members to luncheon/events.
• Update daily the Chamber calendar
  • Listing all events in the Community
• Greet and answer questions of all walk in traffic
• Work special events sponsored by the Chamber
  • Solicit giveaways and auction items from Members via website, phone calls and social media.
  • Help with set up and break down of events.

Overall Objectives:

• The London-Laurel County Chamber of Commerce is a hub of information for businesses and organizations, regardless of their membership with the Chamber.
• The Chamber will also act as a central connection for visitors and citizens of London and Laurel County, as well as a thought leader for innovation in business, marketing and Social Media
• Improve awareness of the Chamber’s role in the community as a trusted source for business information and referrals
• Promote London-Laurel County both the events happening in it and its businesses
• Drive traffic to Chamber website
• Drive traffic to Chamber members’ Social Media pages and websites
• Retention Specialists are encouraged to accomplish several of the tasks simultaneously during conversations/meetings with our members.

Dress Requirement:
