Volunteer As An Instructor And Make A Difference In A Student’s Life
The London – Laurel County Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Laurel County School System has taught a Work Ethic Seal Program for all Laurel County High School students for the past six years. With great success, we have had many students graduate from the program and earn scholarships. Once again, the Chamber of Commerce, being the voice of the business community, is answering the call for more students to be certified as work-ready upon entering the workforce.
The Work Ethic Seal Program curriculum is provided through Junior Achievement of the Bluegrass and is taught in Senior year English IV class. The curriculum is written for volunteers in the community to reach students during regular class times, along with a teacher present in the room. Several local business leaders have taught various classes through Junior Achievement and all have said it was easy to follow and they enjoyed their time with the students.
Will you please take the time to consider teaching our local high school students some valuable life lessons and to instruct our future leaders? If we want to continue having a thriving business community we much teach our future leaders how to lead! We have an informative training and Q&A session scheduled for Monday, August 22nd from 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM at the GC Garland building beside London Elementary School. Please come join us and see how you can make a difference in a student’s life.
Please let us know if you are interested in helping teach our future leaders and workforce by calling the Chamber at 606-864-4789 or complete the online form below.
