Volunteers Needed for Junior Achievement
The London-Laurel County Chamber of Commerce along with the Laurel County School System has been teaching a Work Ethic Seal Program for all Laurel County High School Students for the past three years. With great success we had 38 students graduate from the program last year. Once again the Chamber of Commerce, the voice of the business community, is answering the call for more students to be work ready upon entering the workforce.
The Work Ethic Seal Program curriculum is provided through Junior Achievement of the Bluegrass. This curriculum is designed for volunteers in the community to teach students during regular class times. Several local business leaders have taught various classes through Junior Achievement and all have said it was easy to follow and they enjoyed their time with the students.
Will you please take the time to consider teaching our local high school students some valuable life lessons and take the time to instruct our future leaders? We have an informative training and question session set for Tuesday, September 24th at 3:00pm in the Chamber office located at 409 South Main Street. Please come join us and see how you can Make a Difference in a Student’s Life!
Please let us know if you are interested in helping teach our future leaders and work force. Call the Chamber office at 606-864-4789.
